After the different hotel sales carried out by Banco Sabadell in recent weeks advised by Christie & Co (sale of the Asta Regia Hotel
, Augusta Aparthotel
and Bal Hotel & SPA
), a new one has to be added, the sale of the AC Hotel by Marriott Lleida, owned also by Banco Sabadell and managed by AC by Marriott until the signature of the sale agreement.
The 4-star AC Hotel by Marriott Lleida, has 75 fully equipped rooms, as well as 4 meeting rooms, restaurant, bar, fitness area and parking. It is located in the centre of the City of Lleida, only at a 10 minutes’ walk from the historic area.
The asset has been acquired by AA Hoteles, for whom the acquisition of this hotel represents another step in their growth plans with the aim of increasing their presence in cities and spots where they have been already operating, such as Barcelona, Madrid, Sevilla, Logroño, Zaragoza, Baqueira-Beret and now, Lleida, which will mean that the chain will have three different assets in the province, with the two hotels the company already owns in Baqueira-Beret.
Félix Sánchez Cerrato, General Director of AA Hoteles, points out: “We want to continue our journey betting on the incorporation of new destinations, mostly urban assets and important buildings that, because of their location, category and size, could represent new opportunities according to the business model that we wish to continue developing".
Juan Yeguas Bolívar, Commercial Director, underlines: “The acquisition of this new establishment implies an important commercial contribution for our company, because of its immediate addition into the marketing plan of all the hotels we operate”.
In the words of Íñigo Cumella, Hotel Broker at Christie & Co: “The AC Hotel by Marriott Lleida is, undoubtedly, an asset in an excellent location in the city of Lleida, with a good size in terms of rooms and great facilities. This deal starts a year which we believe will be again a very intense year as far as hotel transactions are concerned, and it also confirms the growing investors’ interest in secondary cities".
Inmaculada Ranera, Managing Director in Spain and Portugal adds: "The sale of this asset is another clear example that, even in complicated contexts, a structured and professional sale process results in market reaction deal completions”.
