With the aim of anticipating what is to come and identifying the challenges and opportunities for all members of the sector, the Christie & Co offices in Helsinki and Stockholm have produced a new report concerning the Stockholm Hotel Market.
Often referred to as the ‘Scandinavian Pearl’, Stockholm is one of strongest cities in the Nordic region, with regard to the hotel sector. Despite increasing the hotel supply by a considerable amount in the last 10 years, the city has been able to cope with this growth by maintaining solid performance levels over the last few years.
Similarly, regarding the external tourist market in the area, the hotel demand has been traditionally dominated by national clients; nevertheless our report states that visits from international tourists are increasing.
From a positive economic perspective, the Stockholm Market is becoming more interesting for international investors, in terms of the detailed insight provided by the report into the opportunities offered by the local hotel market, as it involves a market in which international brands are scarcely represented.
Furthermore, Inmaculada Ranera, Managing Director for Spain and Portugal comments: ‘Thanks to our extensive office network in Europe and the United Kingdom, we are able to share our knowledge and expertise on a global scale, therefore we believe this report can provide valuable information to possible investors who are interested in entering the Nordic market’.
Additionally, we would like to inform you that Christie & Co will be attending the International Hotel Investment Forum (IHIF), which will be held in Berlin from the 7-9th March, where all the members of Real Estate Investment will be present to discuss their perspectives and the future of the sector. Inmaculada Ranera, Managing Director for Spain and Portugal, and Carlos Nieto, Associate Director, will attend the event as representatives of the firm’s Spanish branches.
