It is a 4-star boutique hotel, with 31 rooms and 2 meeting rooms, located in the centre of the city of Jerez, in a privileged location near the Town Hall, the Cathedral and the Alcázar. The building was completely restored in 2012, respecting the façade and the two patios (central and cellar) of a historic “Bourgeois house” of the city, listed as Patrimony by the Town Hall.
Banco Sabadell, owner of the Hotel Asta Regia, hired Christie & Co before the summer to act as broker in the sale, which formalization took place this November, joining the hotel area of Grupo Hotusa, Eurostars Hotel Company , within its Eurostars Hotels chain.
2017 is expected to close as a new record year in terms of hotel transactions. Investors are being very active in the hotel market during this year, and not only in Madrid and Barcelona, traditionally more interesting cities for investors and operators, but also in more secondary locations.
In the words of Íñigo Cumella, Hotel Broker at Christie & Co, and responsible for the deal: "This transaction highlights the interest of hotel operators in acquiring assets in second-order cities, whose recovery is palpable in recent years. and in which profitability responds to their investment expectations ".
Inmaculada Ranera, Managing Director for Spain & Portugal, points out: "The sale of the Asta Regia is a good example of our ability to sell all types of hotel assets in the Spanish market, regardless of size and location. Our extensive database allows us to have a broad view of all types of investors, from private investors to large investment funds, both national and international”.
